Butter Chicken

The ever-popular Indian chicken recipe beloved by all, made easy. Goes great with both rice and rotis (Indian bread).

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp hung yogurt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 400 gm boneless chicken
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6-7 black peppercorn
  • 3-4 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp green chilli powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup onion puree
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp Mawana Super Fine Sugar
  • Water as required
  • 1 cup fresh tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup ready-made tomato puree
  • 4 tbsp cream

Preparations

  • In a mixing bowl add hung yogurt, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder,      salt, lemon juice, mustard oil and mix well.
  • Add boneless chicken pieces and marinate them. Let it rest for 30 mins.
  • Thread the chicken in the skewers and grill in the Usha OTG for 12 mins at 220˚.
  • In a pan melt  butter. Add cardamom, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, black pepper corn, cloves and stir. Add green chilli paste , ginger garlic paste, onion puree, and cook. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, kasuri methi, garam masala, salt, Mawana  Super Fine Sugar, water and mix. Add  fresh tomato puree, ready made tomato puree and cook. Once done blend in some cream.
  • Add the grilled chicken in the pan and let it cook for sometime.
  • Garnish with cream and kasuri methi.
